The purpose of this commercial is to call to action to stop comparisons to a girl as an insult. The main audience of this company are women, however, this commercial can reach any person because it was televised in one of the most seen spectacles in television. Basically, they are telling the viewer that while a girl grows up she faces many changes and one of the consequences can be to have low self esteem. The purpose is to avoid doing this type of insults, because being like a girl is not an insult, is just being a girl.

In "I'm not all about that Bass"Jenny Trout makes an argument on how the "I'm All About That Bass" Song by Meghan contradicts itself and has a negative message. Trout constructs her argument by taking apart the song lyrics and analyzing verse by verse, the true meaning or message and the positive or negative effects that they produce on people. The main rhetorical appeal that she uses is logos because she bases her argument on giving clear and rational examples that work as evidence for her arguments. She uses ethos to establish that she considers herself a fat woman, therefore, that is why she is against this type of messages where not-fat women consider themselves fat women and argue that that is the true size of beauty. She seems to alienate her audience because she is just giving her opinion based on what she sees and thinks, she does not mentions any other person affected or at least with the same thoughts. However, if we look at the comments on the webpage, we can see that she responds to almost every message, therefore, she does not alienate her audience. she listens to her opinions and gives a second opinion, whether agreeing with them or contra arguing.
The Dr Pepper Ten ad argument is that there is a new product in the market that has similar benefits as the Diet Dr Pepper but is more manly because it contains sugar, calories and a more manly look. The ad conveys its message by showing things that are thought to be only for men like war, muscles and guns. This ad is effective rhetorically for the purpose that they want. They want to direct this product only to men and through out the commercial we can appreciate the exclusion and even attack to women. This ad tells the viewer that if he is a real man, he should be attracted to fighting in the jungle while shooting lasers and showing how strong he is, therefore, if he is completely a man he should not be doing women things like watching romantic movies or drinking diet sodas with 0 calories. What this essay says about gender is that there are differences that characterize each gender and male gender should avoid female gender things in order to be completely male.
The Carl's Junior commercial is using the rhetorical strategies of appealing to the audiences emotions to convey their message. Eating is a necessity that every person has to be alive and the purpose of this ad is to compare the feeling of pleasure caused by eating with the image of a sexy woman. The discourse community is society as a whole but mostly men, because society has turned the woman body into an idea of pleasure only and has defined how it is supposed to be. Men are attracted to the ad by looking at the sensual movements and image of Kate Upton, and some women are attracted by looking at the image that they want to have, here they see a model eating a burger and her body did not change. Of course, this does not applies to all women, however, it applies to most men. I would say that this commercial is effective because it follows the guidelines of the society that we have established. It uses a women with a nice body, it portrays her as an object and gets the attention of the audience. Even if they are not interested in eating a burger, the commercial is effective in getting their attention with sensuality and then having the image of the burger in mind.
Beyonce's video connects to Adichie's speech through the message she is trying to deliver about feminism and the inequality that women face sometimes. Through her lyrics and the music video we can see that Beyonce is angry, she is yelling for her rights and her equality and telling the people who is against her to bow down to her because they are affraid of her being better, they are showing inferiority. That is why she feels flawless, because she can do as much as she wants. She proves her point by citing Adichie because her argument is really intense.
